Camcorder:

This is a Sony DCR HC-42 and it records onto mini DVs (Digital Video Tapes). The camcorder had to be mini DV rather than DVD so that it won't 'skip' or jump when I am off-road.

I also bought a 1GB memory card for the camcorder which will then store high quality digital photographs.
